A real fire in Colombia.

A monthly online gathering to sit with the fire, bring our offerings to the Earth, and remember a way of living grounded in gratitude, respect, and reciprocity.

What the fire does
My teacher, Nan Faviana, taught me that fire is the ear of the cosmos.
Between Heart of Sky and Heart of Earth, it receives what we bring: our grief, our questions, our prayers—and what we do not yet have words for.
The fire does not ask us to solve what we bring. It asks us to place it in relationship—with the elements, the ancestors, and the wider life to which we belong. There, something larger and deeper than any one of us can be heard.
Who tends the fire
I’m Andrés Jiménez.
I tend this fire from Kaukitá, the nature reserve where I live in Pereira, Colombia.
My relationship with ceremonial fire was shaped through nearly five years at Lake Atitlán and through my path as an Ajq’ij in the Maya K’iché tradition.
For each time we meet, I prepare an offering of copal, seeds, herbs, and flowers—a gift of gratitude to the ancestors, the spirits, Earth, sky, water, and wind.
My role is to tend the fire, care for the circle that forms around it, and carry the teachings of the elders into each gathering.

The fire is
for everyone.
We begin by arriving through breath and silence. There is space to speak, give thanks, ask for support, or simply sit with others.
You do not need experience with circles, cacao, or ceremony.
You do not need a clear intention.
You do not need to know what to say.
Come with what is true.

You are invited to light a candle and join the fire across the distance.

Cacao, tea, or water
Bring what helps you arrive and listen. Cacao is welcome, never required.

You will never be required to speak. Listening is also participation.

Each Living Fire is complete in itself. You are welcome to come once, or return whenever the fire calls you back.
If something in your life is asking to be accompanied over time, the fire we light together on October 4 will continue through The Autumn Fire Circle—five gatherings held every other Tuesday from October 13 to December 8.
You can join a single gathering or take part in the whole season.
